Edwin L. Thomas

Professor Thomas’s research interests include polymer physics and engineering, photonics and phononics and mechanical and optical properties of block copolymers, liquid crystalline polymers, and hybrid organic-inorganic nanocomposites. He came to Rice University in 2011 and served as the William and Stephanie Sick Dean of the George R. Brown School of Engineering until 2017.

Thomas group currently is consisted of four postdoctoral, one graduate and two undergraduate research assistants working in various fields including polymer, phononics, photonics and mechanics. Group is located in George R. Brown building room E201.
